Unlike other prefabrication systems, buildings designed using Candour aren't limited to modules or set layouts. This enables freedom to adapt the configuration and form of your buildings to suit different clients, contexts and climates.
By providing the structural frame of the building the Candour system allows you to clad and finish buildings with almost any material desired. Avoid the ‘one size fits all’ aesthetic of traditional prefabrication and express your architectural style and aesthetics.
Build Sustainably
Designed by Architects, the Candour system offers the highest environmental performance. The airtight design achieves no thermal bridging reducing post-occupancy power consumption. The system can easily be designed to achieve PassivHaus standards.
Our building components are made from local timber sourced from PEFC-certified, regrowth forests. Inherently sustainable, timber has low embodied energy and the ability to capture and store carbon from the atmosphere. By using structural mass timber, the need for steel is greatly reduced and in some cases removed completely.
Offsite manufacturing and assembly further reduce the significant waste of traditional onsite construction.
Build with Confidence
Construction time on site is reduced by the structure of the building being prefabricated, coordinated and installed by one supplier.
By utilising timber construction Candour components can be easily installed and modified onsite by tradesmen using traditional tools. This allows onsite flexibility for design variations and reduces the need for upskilling, making for an approachable and easily understood construction system.
Access Innovation
Candour’s systems and components have been designed and developed by multi-award-winning architecture practice, Archier. We have partnered with local suppliers, such as ASH timber and Binq windows, to ensure every aspect of the system is of the highest quality.
With the 6 Axis Hundegger ROBOT-Drive timber saw we can sculpt timber up to 1,200mm width x 300mm height x 10,000mm length into an expansive array of timber joints. Sanders, paint machines and spray booths finish our timber to the highest quality creating beautiful architecture.
We’re constantly improving our processes to ensure we’re implementing the most appropriate and up-to-date technologies available. This includes developing new CAD plugins for designers and builders, such as live engineering.
